How Our Lock Change Works.

Changing your locks shouldn't be a drawn-out process. Our dispatch model is designed to get your property secured with brand new hardware and keys in a single, efficient visit. Here is what to expect.

1
Quick Door Assessment When you call, our Dorset hub will ask whether your door is uPVC, composite, or wood. This helps us confirm the exact type of cylinder or mortice lock needed before we even leave.
2
Fully Stocked Arrival We dispatch the nearest engineer to your specific BH district. Because our vans carry hundreds of high-security locks, we almost never have to order parts or make a second trip.
3
Installation & New Keys The old hardware is removed and the new, British Standard or TS007 rated lock is installed. We test the mechanism and immediately hand over your fresh set of manufacturer keys.

Lock Replacement Facts

Lock Change FAQS.

We change hundreds of locks across Dorset every month. Here are the clear, honest answers to the most common questions our customers ask before we arrive.

Can you change the locks on a uPVC or composite door?
Yes, absolutely. Many homeowners worry that changing a lock on a multi-point uPVC door requires replacing the entire complicated strip mechanism. In reality, unless the mechanism is broken, we only need to swap out the central "Euro Cylinder" where the key goes in. This is a fast process and significantly less invasive than replacing the whole locking system.
How many keys will I get with my new lock?
Usually between 2 and 3 keys. The exact number depends on the brand and model of the lock we install. Standard euro cylinders typically come with 3 sealed manufacturer keys. If you require more copies for family members or tenants, let us know and we can advise on the best solution.
Do I really need to change my locks when moving into a new house?
We strongly recommend it. Even if the previous owners handed over a set of keys, you have no way of knowing how many duplicate keys were cut and given to cleaners, builders, dog walkers, ex-partners, or neighbors over the years. Changing your external door locks on moving day ensures you are the only person who can access your new home, and it also validates your home insurance policy.
